  • Magnifica humanitas
    Pope Leo XIV's First Encyclical:

    • Pope Leo XIV has published his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, on safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence. AI seems to slowly be integrated in many aspects of our lives. What role can and should AI play in the modern world? How can we be sure to maintain the dignity of the human person in a time where our humanity seems to be mimicked or forgotten for something unreal?

"In the era of artificial intelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. We must lovingly safeguard the grandeur of humanity bestowed upon us and revealed in its fullness in Christ, the splendor of which no machine can ever replace. True progress always stems from a heart open to others, an intelligence willing to listen and a will that seeks what unites rather than what separates. With the heart of a shepherd and a father, I ask everyone to abandon the construction of yet another Tower of Babel and to join forces in building up the common good, so that humanity will never lose its beauty, and the world once again will come to recognize the human heart as the place where God desires to dwell."

    • update on we are his witnesses

Cardinal Tobin has issued a letter updating us on the progress and intention of the "We Are His Witnesses Program"

"We have a better sense of where we are now, based upon the feedback you have so generously provided since we began We Are His Witnesses. So, where is God calling us to go?

I believe the Lord is calling us to recognize where our parishes fall short, where the Archdiocese is not present or has not succeeded in leading others to Jesus Christ, and then to work more closely together to respond more faithfully to the needs of the people God loves so much.

What about the third question: How do we get there together?"

You can read the full letter here: https://rcan.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/061226-We-Are-His-Witnesses-Pastoral-Letter-English.pdf
